Great news!  Kathleen Wynne has announced yesterday (Sept. 2nd), in Kenora, that an agreement was reached among the Province of Ontario, the federal government and the International Institute for Sustainable Development so that the ELA will remain open. Off to the ELA – Join the Sit-In!

The Council of Canadians are sitting-in at the ELA this weekend! Follow these directions to join them:

  • Drive West on Highway 17  past Vermilion Bay.
  • The ELA is accessed from Pine Road which heads south off Highway 17 approximately 30km west of Vermilion Bay.
  • There is a government sign identifying the road as access to the ELA  and people will be at or near the beginning of Pine Road to give directions.
